Spell for Inner Peace

You will need:
- A bowl of seawater (or water with a lot of salt added)
- A large bowl of grains and seeds, a variety of kinds.
- A very large bowl of lavender.
- Five beeswax candles, scented or unscented.
To be conducted just before dawn.
Using the lavender, create a large pentacle on the ground, large enough to for you to sit in and conduct this ritual.
At each or the five points where the star meets the circle, have a candle lit.
Sit inside the circle with the bowls of seawater and grains. Know that the circle is made of lavender, that calming and peaceful flower, and acts as a magnifying glass, concentrating and directing that calm and peace into you.
Acknowledge your connection to the fierce and cruel god El, and your desire to be relinquished from his grasp:
“El, fearsome God of the Sea,
Loosen now your hold on me.
Free me from my deeds of past,
Assassin’s role, from me, I cast.”
Pour the bowl of seawater into the ground before you, as an offering and sacrifice of your turbulent past to the gentle mother goddess Eda. Rise, and take the bowl of grains around the circle, sprinkling the grains upon the lavender lines of the pentacle, adding the earth-mother’s blessings to the concentration of peace that surrounds you, saying:
“Goddess of the Land and Hearth,
Welcome me on my new path,
Protect me in your warm embrace,
May peace now shine upon my face.”
Time the ritual to conclude with the dawning of the sun. Let the sub’s magnificent light and warmth shine upon you and upon the land. As the candles burn out and the lavender and grain pentacle is blown away by the morning winds, know that with this new day so too dawns your new, peaceful life.
