Though I often scoff at those claiming to be haunted or to have seen spirits I must point out it isn’t entirely impossible. Spirits are sometimes trapped in this realm through complications in their deaths. However i often shoot down claims of this as it’s often lies or simply a trick of the mind. And I personally refuse to acknowledge people who claim to always see spirits or be able to talk to/hear them
Stories like those are often fabrications. You can often point out false stories from two major points. Spirits that have the traits of the living and ridiculous backstories. Spirits have no interest with human activity unless it is of grave importance. Secondly, though not emotionless they don’t share emotions in the way the living do. they do not feel pride as they have nothing. Not envy because they need nothing. Not anger or vengeance because, as I’ve mentioned they are not concerned with the affairs of the living. Therefore you are not “haunted” by a vengeful spirit.

Now regarding hauntings. Will spirits pick you up, move things, scare you (intentionally) or terrorize you in any manner? No.If there is a spirit in a house or building chances are:
A ) the spirit is stuck because of a complication, in some religions it is thought that the dead who are not honored with specific rites after death are stuck in this world. If the living human believes they can not move on without these rites then the spirit may become “stuck”. Unready to move on.
Or
B ) it’s not a spirit but rather large amounts of death energy or perhaps something personal that may cause illusions.
