East and West Gates

In necromancy we refer to the two gates, the east and the west gates, however they are simply the two sides of the same gate, two components of a whole. The east gate, the “exit” for spirits in the after. Most “summonings” are done facing the east for this reason. Then there is the west gate, an entrance into the afterlands. This is based off the sun’s movements, it rises in the east, resembling an entrance into this world, and sets in the west, resembling an exit. Depending on the spell or ritual you are working on you’d change the direction in which you work.
