For Wiccans, Pagans, and Witches who are still in the broom closest, life and hiding everything will seem extremely difficult. With no one to support you, things will be rough. In order to help relieve some of the stress, here are some tips on how to hide altars.
Hide it in plain sight - Use everyday objects that won’t cause any suspicion (this method has worked extremely well for me).
Have an extremely small one - If you can fit it into a small pouch, then hiding it can be very easy and it can be stored / moved without hassle.
Store it in a reclusive place - Keep it some place where it is highlyunlikely for someone to stumble upon it. Places where it can be locked with a key are best.
Excuses - No matter how you choose to keep your altar, always have a good list of 10-15 excuses just in case someone does happen to find it. Even if they have little to no suspicion, you will be prepared.
Have an astral altar - This method is the safest for those in the broom closet, because the altar is in your head. When meditating, you have an astral altar on a different plane. You can preform rituals there, and there is zero chance of you being caught. Of course, this option may not appeal to everyone (it certainly didn’t appeal to me), but it is an option.
