“Rise From the Ashes” Spell

Fawkes is a phoenix, Harry. They burst into flame when it is time for them to die, and then they are reborn from the ashes.
Inspired by Fawkes and the fact that I’ve been feeling a bit of a fog in my craft, I created a spell to help you rise from the ashes of your practice! If things are feeling a bit dead, this spell should help bring them back to life. I made this because we all have those moments.
Materials
  • Paper or some other material for a poppet**
  • Something to write with
  • A paper towel, cloth, etc.
  • My “Rise From the Ashes” powder (materials in the powder can be substituted as needed, or you can make your own powder!**
**The powder has to cover the poppet so make the size of the poppet/the amount of powder accordingly!
Directions
  1. Make your powder and poppet. The poppet is supposed to represent you, so put your initials or something similar.
  2. Lay down the paper towel or cloth and lay your poppet on top of it.
  3. Pour your powder on top of the poppet. As you do this, think or say aloud, “My witchcraft has died, my spark has gone out; all that is left are ashes strewn about.”
  4. Think, for a minute, about the things you want to accomplish or do to bring life back into your craft. Whether that’s creating a daily/weekly routine, researching more, whatever it is focus your thoughts on that.
  5. Reach into the powder, find your poppet with your fingers, and pull it to the top of the ashes. Say or think the following:
It comes as no surprise
My spark has lit anew,
Now there’s magic to do
And from ashes I rise.
That’s it! You can keep the powder to use again, or throw it away, and dispose of the poppet in whatever method is most comfortable for you. I used fire because I wanted to continue the theme of this renewed self rising and regaining its ‘spark’.
Substitute words, ingredients, etc. as needed!
