Any tips for beginners?
- Read materials that pertain to your personal interests, without relying on other peoples opinions.
- Take most information with a grain of salt until you are comfortable enough with determining fact from misinformation.
- Take notes whenever you can.
- Keep a diary or notebook with you to jot down ideas when you’re out and about.
- Keep a well stocked spice/herb rack and pantry, as most ingredients for spellwork and ritual can be found in your kitchen.
- Collect bits and pieces from outdoors - but always be aware of feathers, flowers and herbs that may be illegal to obtain. Be respectful of other people’s property.
- Baths and teas are good beginner spells.
- Witch bottles and charms for protection are great for beginners too.
- Don’t go spending a large amount of money on altar/ritual tools at first, if you are not sure whether you really need it.
- Keep jars from pasta sauce bottles and condiments.
- Search for community groups that may be able to help you along your way.
- Don’t be discouraged during your first few months of study.
