Water Gazing

Water Gazing
What is Water Gazing?:
Water Gazing is a water based divination; In the family of hydromancy and a form of scrying.
Why use Water Gazing?:
Water Gazing is good for people who are draw to water elements (magic practitioner or not) or cannot do divinations openly in their home. Its also helps with concentration and boosts intuitive instinct.
How do I Water Gaze?:
Everyone has a method to the madness, this method is the one *I* was taught.  I am typing this method made in  semi-safe steps, however, if you are dealing with unclean water or spirits that are not benevolent to you- I would recommend creating a safe spot before you attempt any divinations.
Items needed:
Spring water or tap with filter or rain water
Sea salt
A glass bowl or chalice
A  energy/clean area to prevent influences outside those you would want- a table/altar/floor will do.
One candle- white is preferred but any color will do
Notebook with writing utensil
Steps:
1. Wash the bowl/chalice (remember it has to be GLASS) in saltwater clockwise and let the item air dry
2. Fill the bowl/chalice ¾ths whatever the size of the item might be with spring/filtered clear water/clear rain water.
3. Take bowl/chalice to the are the divination area as well as your notebook and pen/pencil.
4. choose a left or right above bowl/chalice position to light and place the candle on, please remember to use a candle holder or have your candle protected. Make sure it will be opposite from the position you will be sitting.
5. When ready, Inhale deeply- while touching the edge of the bowl; you can do this with one hand or two. Out stretch the hand/s with palm facing the water and exhale. While exhaling move you hand/s away SLOWLY and imagine your breath pushing past your palm and into the water. If you have something specific on your mind- now would be the time to ‘exhale’ that inquiry into the bowl/chalice.
6.If  water is still rippled, wait until it settles; during this time find a good spot to relax in because you will be gazing for a while. when the water is calm look into the water and bowl/chalice from top to side, allow the images to appear into the bowl/chalice naturally; do not force your projection into the divination. Once you start seeing images write them down as they appear, for this you may want to keep your notebook open and writing utensil ready.
This can take up to 30 minutes  or longer. However, if you have never done hydromancy before start yourself off with 5 minutes and gradually increase.
How to do after care:
Once everything is said and done (after putting out candle) you have two methods of getting rid of the water.
1. Take it outside a little ways from the home and pour it out.
2. If the divination is favorable, use it as part of your bath water or douse it over your head in the shower. If the divination is not so pleasant; pour the water in the toilet then flush and rinse the bowl out, pour in the toilet again to clean out the residue of the divination
That is how you do Water Gazing!
*Again, this is my method. It should be fairly safe if used properly. Please keep in mind if you are living in a location with water supervisions, making sure you are not breaking any laws. Also, your candle reflects on how your divination turns out - if you are scrying for love, a red candle with boost the images ..etc.
