HOW TO DRY HERBS

  1. Harvest your herbs for drying just before they begin to flower. Remember to remove any damaged or bruised leaves.
  2. Tie a rubber band around the stems of the herbs. Any flowers on the herbs should face downward.
  3.  After bundling, tie a paper bag around the bundle. Hang the whole bag off of a coat hanger somewhere dry. The bag will catch any seeds that dry if you want to collect them.
  4. Leave to dry. Herbs should dry away from direct sunlight and moisture or they will spoil. Drying times will take anywhere from 5 days to a few weeks, depending on the types of herbs you’re drying.
  5. Remove when dried. The herbs are dried when they just become crisp and no moisture can be felt.
