House cleansing ideas!

As most of you know, we recently found out that the owners of the house we were supposed to rent for five years decided they wanted to move back in after 10 months.  Bummer!  Unfortunately, that means a new house and - you guessed it - a new house cleansing.  I used my standard house cleansing ceremony for the house we’re moving from.  That included…

Quartz in all the windows.
A salt/ash mixture around the outside of the house.
A penny at each corner of the house.
A new broom.
An iron something hanging over/near the door.

Sweeping the entire house.

Cleansing the entire house with sage to open air.
Cleansing the entire house with a black candle to open fire.
Cleansing the entire house with purified water to open water.
Cleansing the entire house with salt to open air.
A negativity banishing spell.

Creating a protection sachet.

Creating a protective rune chain.

Creating a blessing bowl.

Singing a song to raise energy.
Closing the circle.

But I don’t want to do the same thing twice.  One, I really like my rune chain, so I’ll probably cut the cord that binds it, cleanse it and restring it.  I might empty the blessing bowl and redo it for ritual.  And I spent a lot of money on our beautiful broom so, while I know the folklore is that you never take a used broom to a new house, this one might just have to get cleaned out and come along.  A lot of this won’t be applicable if I reuse the same items.

I need something that’s not quite as long.  The house cleansing went about an hour over my planned time.  I’m sure some people were frustrated.  So I’ll probably find ways to shorten it.

The house we’re moving into is over 100 years old.  So I’m definitely looking for some ideas to appease house spirits.  I’m sure this one has some.

I’ll take any and all suggestions as I have to get the ritual at least planned tonight so I can start ordering any items I might need.  Usually I’m a little more creative and do my own research but I work all this week, my husband just had significant surgery, my circle meet is tonight and I haven’t done any packing whatsoever despite moving on the 22nd.  I have a lot to do, so I could really use the help.
